I have worn this navy baby for 3 manicures straight... and as any nail polish lover will tell you, the excitement of choosing your next mani colour is a major part of the thrill. After a brief interlude, I am looking down at my bare nails trying to talk myself out of reapplying it for round 4 and into showing another colour some love. I really nailed it with this one (pun intended)!
You see, I waited too long trying to find it in store, just assuming that Essie's Fall Collection would not actually arrive in autumn. After spending most of May and June hitting up Clicks, Edgars, Red Square, Dischem etc. with no luck, I emailed the distributor (I know, I know, I just couldn't let it go) who confirmed that it had in fact launched in March and was out of stock. The stubbornness in me came out, egged on by the fact that I knew I was days away from embarking on No-Buy July, so I decided to go to one more store - Sorbet Canal Walk. At the downstairs store they were out of stock and I encountered a "wishful thinking" giggle while they called their upstairs store and... they had one!
I asked them to hold it for me, even though it would take me less than five minutes to get there (hey, I wasn't gonna risk it!). On my way from store to store, I also stumbled upon this beauty - amounting to one of my most successful and memorable shopping trips. Ever.

As for the product itself? This creamy, opaque, dark navy blue is unique in colour but with the same magic formula that I have come to expect from Essie. Each application lasted me about 3 days although, to be fair, I have been pairing it with a truly terrible top coat. While matching with most everything, these three colours are the ones I loved wearing it with the most: cream, grey and of course (twinsies) with more navy!
So will I reapply or resist? Onlytime Instagram will tell. While you're there, why not share your pics with me if you've tried this polish too? Or share your thoughts below, I would love to know.
