Project Pan... Kinda

Project-Pan-No-Buy-July-Cape-Town-South-Africa-Africa

Because 'Products I'll be using during No-buy July' just didn't sound as cute.

Since one of my intentions with 'No-buy July' is to appreciate the products I have, I decided to chose a few products to really focus on.  Actually finishing them up will be a bonus, but all bets are off come August 1st!

For Face:  The Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream is a product I absolutely adore and will keep using and using and... you get it.  Seeing as it's still very much in stock in stores, I won't relegate this product to the back of my draw until next summer, I'll at least show it the love it deserves for the rest of this month.

For Brows:  The Ardell Complete Brow Grooming Kit wax pencil will be holding my brows in place this month.  I love it and it's easily replaceable.

For Lashes:  The Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara has been my lash lacquer of choice for the past couple of months!  Which of course means that I immediately want to stop using it for fear it runs out... even though I have a ton of brand new ones just itching to be tried and tested.  I will resist the urge to stick to my silly ways and enjoy this marvelous mascara to the bittersweet end, which should come during July.

For Eyes:  The Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes in 101 Black Diamond will be the eye focus for July.  I hardly wear anything more than eye pencil (more on that battle in a future post) and I chose this one as it's not quite full size, (deluxe sample size maybe?).  It does not last long on the waterline which means frequent re-application opportunities which means one less black eye pencil which means not a damn thing since I have about a hundred!

For Cheeks:  The NYX Powder Blush in Peach is already kind of halfway done, but not due to my diligence.  This baby is not makeup bag friendly (not in mine, anyway).  Just as I fell in love with it, the lid snapped off, the powder crumbled and I was too lazy to fix it up immediately.  Major bonus points:  after 6 months spent in my drawer, topless, it stayed true to the famous great quality.  It was only when I set it down on my dresser top to remember to use it every day for the month of July, that it started to lose it's star quality, looking especially powdery on the cheeks.  The minute I noticed this, I threw it in a little baggie for protection and will continue using this staple of mine, just with some blend, blend, blend and all that.

For Lips:  The Rimmel Kate Moss Kiss of Life 111 lipstick, was the first item I knew had to be included.  I went to great lengths to get my hands on it, I could wear red lips everyday and I have 2 back-ups of it.  Since this is technically a matte lipstick, I'll pair it with my Labelo Sun SPF25 lip balm which is older than I care to remember, so I want to use it up before I break into a brand of lip balm I've never used before.  Might there be some Baby Lips in my future?

For Nails: The Essie Ridge Filling Base Coat, which I like except this particular bottle is getting gloopy, and the Essence Quick Dry Top Coat... which I just want to smash!  I included these two as a punishment for buying nail products on a whim without any research, or particular need.  Towards the end of June, when I discovered my favourite base coast was out of stock, I reached for a product I had never heard of and almost got to the counter before I came to my senses with a stern "This is what got you into this predicament in the first place"!

So there you go.  Products that l love, for the most part, and want to concentrate on using up during my 'No-buy July'.  Anyone out there doing a (kinda) project pan or no-buy July?  Do let me know in the comments below, I would love to follow your journey too.  And why not tag me in your project pan stash on Instagram?  Let's enable each other to stick with it!
